CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Premier, Inc. (Nasdaq:PINC), a national healthcare performance improvement company, has named Jim Storey vice president of investor relations.
Reporting to Chief Financial Officer Craig McKasson, Storey will have primary responsibility for managing the company's communications with its public shareholders and general investment community.
Premier is a healthcare performance improvement alliance helping hospitals and health systems provide better patient care while reducing costs. The alliance consists of approximately 2,900 U.S. community hospitals and 100,000 alternate sites of care.
Storey joins Premier with more than 20 years of experience in executive investor relations and communications roles. Most recently, he served as director of investor relations and corporate communications for Horizon Lines Inc. in Charlotte. Prior to that, he was vice president of investor relations for BlueLinx Holdings Inc. in Atlanta. He also has several years of experience in investor relations consulting with numerous clients across varied industries, and earlier in his career he covered the stock market as a reporter and editor for Dow Jones & Co.
