THE NASDAQ STOCK MARKET SEPTEMBER 11th OBSERVANCE

Who:

The NASDAQ Stock Market will be observing the events that took place on September 11, 2001.

What:

 

On Friday September 9 th 2005, The NASDAQ Stock Market ® will observe a moment of silence from 11:00 a.m. until 11:01 a.m., Eastern Time (ET), in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Since trading will not be halted during this time, NASDAQ asks market participants to use their best judgment and sensitivity in regards to trading during the moment of silence.

During the moment of silence, NASDAQ will display the American Flag and have messaging on the tower in honor of the victims of September 11 th .

In addition, NASDAQ will host The Commissioner of the New York City Office of Emergency Management; Joseph F. Bruno during its closing bell ceremony. The ceremony can be picked up live from 3:50-4:05pm (broadcast details highlighted below).

Throughout the day and weekend, NASDAQ will display the American Flag and special messaging on its Tower in remembrance of the victims of the September 11 th attacks.
