New York, N.Y. — The NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) will observe a moment of silence on Friday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. in observance of the funeral of Pope John Paul II. NASDAQ will request that market participants refrain from trading during this period.

NASDAQ will also air a memorial message in honor of Pope John Paul II on its MarketSite Tower in Times Square throughout the day.
