THE NASDAQ STOCK MARKET
SEPTEMBER 11 OBSERVANCE


Who:        The NASDAQ Stock Market, along with other major exchanges, will be opening the market for trading at 9:30 a.m. on September 11, 2003.
What:
  

To commemorate September 11 NASDAQ will refrain from its Market Open ceremony on that day. The NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square will broadcast the city's September 11 Commemoration ceremony at the World Trade Center on its Tower from 8:30 a.m. through its close, scheduled for 12:00 Noon. NASDAQ, its employees, and market participants will mark the city's four moments of silence.

NASDAQ officials urge market participants to observe the city's four moments of silence and refrain from trading activity to remember those who lost their lives on September 11.

·          Moment of silence (observance of time first plane struck North Tower)

9:03 AM 

·          Moment of silence (observance of time second plane struck South Tower)

9:59 AM 

·          Moment of silence (observance of time of fall of the South Tower)

·          Moment of silence (observance of time of fall of the North Tower)


Where:

Feed information for the NASDAQ MarketSite Tower - marking the moments of silence, the September 11 Commemoration ceremony and later in the evening the "Tribute in Light" will be made available via Waterfront 1623 throughout the day.
