About Serena Williams:
Serena Williams is the No. 1 player in the world and the reigning Wimbledon, French Open and NASDAQ-100 Open champion. The 20-year-old Florida resident has won 16 singles titles, and assumed the No. 1 ranking for the first time on July 8, 2002. Serena, who is seeded first in the U.S. Open, which begins Monday at Flushing Meadows, won her first Grand Slam event when she won the U.S. Open in 1999.

About Earl "Butch" Buchholz:
Chairman of the NASDAQ-100 Open, Butch Buchholz has dedicated much of his life's work to that tournament - a unique tennis championship for both men and women. First conceptualized by Buchholz while a touring pro over 30 years ago, the first NASDAQ-100 was played in 1985 and since then the tournament has grown into the fifth largest tennis tournament in the world. As a player, he was the first to win junior titles at the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Juniors. A member of three U.S. Davis Cup teams from 1958-60, he won 22 professional tournament events during his 10-year professional career.

About the NASDAQ-100 Open:
The NASDAQ-100 Open is the largest tennis tournament in the world following the four Grand Slams in terms of attendance (265,000 in 2002), prize money ($6,600,000 in 2002), player participation (96 men, 96 women compete in respective singles draws), credentialed media (over 800 journalists) and duration (12 days). The NASDAQ-100 Open is televised to more than 150 countries and 750 million households worldwide. The 2003 NASDAQ-100 Open will be held March 19-30, 2003.
