The NASDAQ MarketSite® provides a platform for companies to gain visibility via press releases, media alerts social media and photos distributed over the wire, access to broadcast press interviews and print reporters.

This section details the processes involved in getting the best possible coverage of your event. If you have questions about media relations, please contact Jolene Libretto or Robert Madden .

  Media Alert

NASDAQ will distribute a media alert over the GlobeNewswire announcing your company's participation in the NASDAQ Opening Bell. This alert is distributed at 10:30 a.m. the day before your event (Monday ceremony announcements are distributed the Friday before). A draft of the media alert will be sent to your communications team for final approval prior to distribution by Jolene Libretto or Robert Madden .

  Press Releases

Companies may choose to issue a press release or media alert announcing their participation in The NASDAQ Opening Bell. If your company intends to issue a press release or media alert you will need to obtain approval from NASDAQ’s Corporate Communications Department prior to distribution. Please send all press releases to Jolene Libretto or Robert Madden for approval.

  Broadcast Press

NASDAQ’s MarketSite location has a fully functional broadcast studio and can accommodate interviews from any network. Most of the key global media outlets (CNBC, Reuters TV, Bloomberg TV, BNN) broadcast daily from MarketSite so we encourage companies to take advantage of potential media opportunities in conjunction with the Opening Bell.

Prior to pitching the onsite press (see attached list) it is important to note one thing with your communications staff: NASDAQ will facilitate the scheduling of interviews but cannot pitch the networks on your behalf due to our neutral position. Once your communications staff has confirmed with a network please have them contact Jolene Libretto or Robert Madden to schedule studio time.

  Print Reporters/ Outside Photographers

Companies may choose to invite print reporters or an outside photographer to The NASDAQ Opening Bell. We ask that you include these individuals on your guest list to prevent any confusion on the morning of the event. If a photographer plans to attend we will ask he/she to adhere to the same guidelines we have outlined under Broadcast Studio Etiquette.
