JIM DONALD
Jim Donald joined Starbucks Coffee Company in October of 2002 as president, North America, working closely with retired chief executive officer, Orin Smith, and chairman, Howard Schultz. In this position, Mr. Donald was responsible for the overall management, business development and operations of Starbucks in all North American markets. During this period, the Company experienced record financial performance, attributable largely to its success in North America. In March 2005 Mr. Donald became president and chief executive officer. As chief executive officer, he has responsibility for all Starbucks business operations, supply chain and general administrative functions. Mr. Donald also joined Starbucks board of directors at this time. Handpicked by Sam Walton in 1991 to build a major presence in the supermarket business for Wal-Mart, Mr. Donald was a key executive in Wal-Mart’s development and expansion of the Wal-Mart Super Center, supervising all merchandising, distribution, store design and real estate operations. Mr. Donald served as president and manager of Safeway’s 130-store Eastern Division from 1994 to 1996. He was responsible for a $2.5 billion business, 10,000 employees comprised of 130 stores and two distribution centers. With a clear vision and inspiring front-line leadership, he was able to reverse a four-year trend in declining same-store sales.

MICHAEL CASEY
Michael Casey joined Starbucks Coffee Company in 1995. Since then, he has continued to increase his breadth and scope of responsibility. He oversees Information Technology and Administration as well as all aspects of global financial management. He and his team support the Company with solid operating, reporting and control systems and by overseeing the strategic planning, budgeting and capital appropriation processes.
Prior to joining Starbucks, Mr. Casey was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Family Restaurants, Inc., and President and Chief Executive Officer of El Torito Restaurants, Inc. He began his business career with W.R. Grace & Co.
Mr. Casey graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and served in the US Navy nuclear submarine force. He later returned to graduate school, where he earned his MBA degree from Harvard Business School
