Highlights
The balance between inventories and sales at the wholesale showed little change in June, with inventories up 0.5 percent and sales up 0.6 percent. The inventory-to-sales ratio was unchanged at 1.11. Inventories are lean, a plus given early indications that demand slowed in July. Year-on-year, inventories were up 6.3 percent in June vs. an 8.1 percent rise in sales. Inventories at the retail level will be posted in the business inventories report on Monday.
