Highlights
Information services revenue jumped 5.1 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter, making for a 4.5 percent year-on-year rate of growth. These data are unadjusted for seasonal effects. Book publishing was down but not Internet publishing which jumped 11 percent in the quarter for a 28 percent year-on-year gain. Employment services revenue, which offers a glimpse into the health of the temporary help business, jumped 5.9 percent quarter-on-quarter which is no surprise given holiday demand for part-time help. But the year-on-year rate is softer at 4.6 percent.
