Quarterly Services Survey
Definition
The Census Bureau will focus this quarterly services survey on information and technology-related service industries. These were include information; professional, scientific and technical services; administrative & support services; and waste management and remediation services. These sectors correspond to three NAICS sectors (51, 54, and 56). The Quarterly Services Survey produces estimates of total operating revenue and the percentage of revenue by class of customer.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
The quarterly services report offers a look at employment services revenue and in turn information on labor demand. Employment services revenue fell 5.5 percent in the first quarter vs. the fourth quarter. The data are unadjusted with the decline reflecting greater demand during the holidays for temporary employment. But the year-on-year rate also declined, to a positive 1.6 percent from a 6.2 percent gain in the fourth quarter suggesting a slowing in demand for temporary labor.
