Highlights
There's no set of data more wildly skewed by the credit squeeze than the MBA report as prospective borrowers, in an effort to improve their chances of getting a loan, continue to file multiple applications. MBA's purchase index swung back up 12 percent in the Feb. 1 week to 405.3 while the refnancing index was little changed at 5,054.0.
