Highlights
There's no set of data more badly skewed by the credit squeeze than the MBA report as prospective borrowers continue to file multiple applications, both for purchases and refinancings, in an effort to improve their chances of getting a loan. MBA's purchase index plunged 18 percent in the Jan. 25 week to 362.0 while the refnancing index soared 22 percent to 5,501.6.
