A composite index of ten economic indicators that should lead overall economic activity. This indicator was initially compiled by the Commerce Department but is now compiled and produced by The Conference Board. Highlights
The Conference Board's leading indicators index fell 0.5 percent in April following a sharply upward revised gain of 0.6 percent in March. Building permits, data released yesterday, was the largest negative factor for April.
