Definition
This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
Retail conditions in October are as bad as they were in September according to the ICSC-Goldman report whose same-store sales tally plunged 1.6 percent week-on-week for a year-on-year rate of 0.9 percent. The report said confidence in financial markets is necessary before consumer spending can improve. Redbook is up next.
