Definition
This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
September has gotten off to a slow start for the nation's retailers. ICSC-UBS's same-store tally for the Sept. 5 week shows a 1.9 percent year-on-year rate, the lowest since early June. The week-on-week decline is 0.1 percent. The report offered little comment. Redbook is up next. Retail sales data for August will be released on Friday.
