This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
Store sales were little changed in the May 24 week according to ICSC-UBS's tally which was unchanged week-on-week and up 1.5 percent year-on-year vs. 1.6 percent in the prior week. The report estimates that high gas prices are depressing sales by a full percentage point. Redbook is up next.
