Highlights
ICSC-UBS's same-store sales data for the May 3 week were mixed, showing a week-to-week decline of 0.2 percent but a year-on-year rate of 2.3 percent that is up 4 tenths from the prior week for the strongest reading since February. The year-on-year rate is getting a lift from an easy comparison with this time last year. ICSC-UBS expects same-store sales to post a respectable 1.5 to 2.0 percent rise for all of April, a gain that would point to solid month-to-month results for the non-auto non-gas category of April's retail sales report from the Commerce Department. Redbook is up next.
