Highlights
ICSC-UBS reports strength in the April 26 week with same-store sales at a year-on-year +1.9 percent, up 5 tenths from the prior week and the best rate since early March. Week-on-week the gain is 0.9 percent. Strength came despite high gas prices and unseasonably cold weather. The report is consistent with early indications from retailers who are reporting good gains in the month, helped by an easy comparison with a very weak April 2007. Redbook is up next.
