This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
ICSC-UBS reports continued softness in retail sales with the week-to-week same-store index down 0.7 percent for a year-on-year rate of 1.8 percent. Redbook, which will be released later this morning, has been showing an even softer pace. Retail sales data for January will be released tomorrow.
