This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
ICSC-UBS reports very weak results for the Jan. 12 week, with week-to-week chain-store sales down 0.9 percent and year-on-year sales at a very soft +1.1 percent. At 8:30 a.m. ET the Commerce Department will post what are expected to be soft retail trade results for December.
