Store sales firmed in the July 28 week, as measured by ICSC-UBS's index which showed a sharp 1.1 percent week-to-week increase for a still moderate 3.2 percent year-on-year pace. Boosting sales were markdowns, promotions and back-to-school demand. ICSC-UBS's data have been showing stronger results in July than Redbook which will be released at 8:55 a.m. ET.
