Highlights
Store sales in June didn't prove very strong, according to ICSC-UBS's tally for the June 30 week that showed a 0.1 percent week-on-week gain. Year-on-year the pace looks less weak, at 2.5 percent vs. 1.7 percent in the prior week. But the report definitely stressed weakness, saying sales for the month as a whole were "slow, choppy and uncertain" adding that sales of seasonal goods were hurt by cool weather. ICSC-UBS estimates that June sales will rise by only 1.5 to 2 percent, a bit below its prior estimate and compared with a 2.5 percent rise in May. Redbook is up next.
