This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care

Highlights
Store sales dipped back in the Feb. 10 week as cold weather curbed demand for spring merchandise, according to ICSC-UBS's tally that shows a 0.8 percent week-on-week decline at a 3.9 percent year-on-year pace. The year-on-year pace is down 4 tenths from the prior week. January retail sales data from the Commerce Department will be released tomorrow.
