TSX Cuts Midday Loss, Now Down 26 Points, Health Care Further Dips, Energy Lower Despite Rising Oil
Canadian stocks were still in the red, but the S&P TSX Composite Index trimmed the 31-point midday loss to 26 points in the mid-afternoon session.
Health care is still the biggest decliner, down 1.48% mid afternoon. Miners followed with a 0.36% loss, even as gold prices rise 0.06%. Energy stocks were also in the negative territory, down 0.14%, despite higher crude oil prices.
Telecom had the biggest gain, advancing 0.23%. Industrials and utilities were also higher - up 0.05% and 0.03%, respectively.
