Honeywell International Inc . ( HON ) recently completed a $2-million renovation of a New York building named Spring Creek Towers to facilitate effective management of energy usage and increase safety and security requirements of the complex.

In order to improve efficiency and cut costs, a centralized building management system (BMS) and local area network (LAN) have been installed, giving the   community owners the opportunity to improve energy needs and react more prudently to accidents. The new technological upgradations will also help the complex owners to optimize the onsite utility plant and trim its energy usage.

Additionally, Honeywell replaced Spring Creek Towers' old alarm system with new sensors in various areas for security concerns. It also made adequate arrangements to offset concerns relating to elevators among others. The company also introduced Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) that will deliver energy reports for the apartment towers along with providing in-depth detail on performance trends.
