New Stock Coverage: T-Mobile Gets Lukewarm Reception
(^DJI) snapped a four-session winning streak, with free markets
enduring an especially inauspicious time of it on the sort of May
Day only Fidel Castro could love. April showers, it turned out,
only soaked investors on the first day of the month, although
flowers were not far to be found if you looked hard enough. (Indeed
even Cuba's communist icon was once spotted
wreath at the cathedral of capitalism
A fat lot of good it did the Knicks , but Madison Square Garden ( MSG ) was in full bloom in hitting an all-time high. Longtime T-Mobile USA ( TMUS ) mouthpiece Catherine-Zeta-Jones , who once starred in a show called The Darling Buds Of May , will have enjoyed an analyst inspired 6.17% surge in that stock, especially as she is married to Gordon Gekko. Ahead of Saturday's Run for the Roses, Louisville's own Humana ( HUM ) jumped 4.66%.
The Garden State's Automatic Data Processing ( ADP ), based in Roseland, reached a new best even as it reported April private-sector jobs rose less than expected. Champagne socialists in France, complaining about austerity, celebrated the days of whine and roses by putting the Ãlysée Palace's prized cellars on the market. And in San Francisco - where they once put flowers in their hair - hometown hero Trulia (TRLA) gained 12.84% after finding free love among the analyst community .
We're now more than two-thirds of way through earnings season, but key results continue to roll in. Among today's standouts are American International Group (AIG), British Sky Broadcasting ( BSYBY ), General Motors (GM), Gilead Sciences (GILD), Kellogg (K), Kraft Foods (KRFT), LinkedIn (LNKD), Monster Worldwide (MWW), Royal Dutch Shell (RDS-A), and Sanofi-Aventis (SNY).
ION Geophysical (IO): Barrington begins Outperform rated research on IO.
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals (SCMP): The stock is begun with a Buy at MLV & Co, whose price objective is $14. Recent approval of Amitiza, used to treat conditions including chronic idiopathic constipation and irritable bowel syndrome, is a catalyst.
T-Mobile US ( TMUS ): Shares, which surged 6.17% yesterday on their NYSE trading début after a bullish Buy initiation from Goldman Sachs (GS), are this morning assigned only a Hold at Argus.
