Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the
individual equity names with the most call and put buying on
optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Research in Motion (RIMM): More than 15,000 January 14 calls were
purchased for $0.49 to $0.52 as investors look for the beaten-down
handset maker to keep climbing. RIMM rose 0.17 percent to $11.62.
Nexen (NXY): More than 15,000 December 18 puts were bought for
$0.30 to $0.35 as investors look for the energy stock to fall in
coming weeks. NXY fell 1.49 percent to $24.42.
MetroPCS Communications (PCS): More than 36,000 February 9 puts
traded for $0.40 to $0.45 as investors positioned for downside in
the prepaid-wireless stock. PCS fell 7.29 percent to $9.99.
Vodafone (VOD): Blocks of 5,000 contracts each traded in the
January 25 calls and the December 25 calls. Volume was below open
interest, so it may have resulted in position rolled forward in
time or a spread being closed. VOD fell 0.12 percent to $25.62.
