ASEI Wins Contract for ZBV Systems - Analyst Blog

) recently received an order for eight Z Backscatter Van (ZBV)
mobile inspection systems from an unnamed Middle East customer.
ZBV is a low-cost mobile X-ray screening system built into a delivery van. With one-sided, backscatter-only imaging and the option for Radioactive Threat Detection (RTD), ZBV is used for screening vehicles, sea containers, and other cargo for terrorist threats and other fraudulent activities.
The Z Backscatter technology provides photo-like images of the
contents of a container or vehicle, highlighting organic
materials that reveal potentially hazardous or threat items.
The products play an integral part in protecting high-risk zones and are crucial for fighting terrorism and trade fraud, drug smuggling and weapon smuggling. The ZBV systems will be used to inspect vehicles and cargo at high-risk checkpoints.
The ZBV's mobile platform allows for immediate deployment in
response to security threats and its unmatched scan speed
facilitates rapid screening. The system has been adopted globally
by government agencies, border authorities, military bases, law
enforcement departments and security agencies.
