ECOFIN: German Min: Juncker To Be Reappointed Euro Group Head
BRUSSELS -(Dow Jones)- Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker will be
reappointed to head the Euro Group of finance ministers, German Finance Minister
Wolfgang Schaeuble said Tuesday.
Juncker, who is also Luxembourg's finance minister, has been president of the
group of finance ministers since it was formed in 2005. But the 16-member Euro
Group has only now become a formal body of the European Union with the
ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.
"I think he will be appointed," Schaeuble said. "I think there's no question
that he'll be president of the Euro Group for the next two-and-a-half years."
Schaeuble was speaking to reporters ahead of the Euro Group's monthly meeting.
