India Government Official:May Miss Infrastructure Investment
Target
MUMBAI -(Dow Jones)- India may miss its infrastructure investment target for
the five years ending March 31, 2012, a government official said Tuesday.
"Due to the global meltdown, investments have slowed...so we may not be able
to meet the target," Gajendra Haldea, who advises the Planning Commission on
infrastructure, told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference.
India was targeting about $500 billion of investment during the period in
infrastructure projects such as road development and power production.
