Indonesia Awards 3 New Oil, Gas Blocks; 3 CBM Concessions
JAKARTA -(Dow Jones)- The Indonesian government Wednesday awarded three new
oil and gas blocks as well as three coal-bed methane concessions to local and
foreign investors.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said the onshore oil & gas Blora
block was awarded to PT Seleraya, the offshore North Makassar Strait block was
granted to a consortium of PT Baruna Nusantara Energi and Niko Research Ltd.,
and the Sula block was won by PT Brilliance Energy.
The government awarded the contract for CBM in the Sanga-Sanga area in East
Kalimantan to a consortium consisting of BP East Kalimantan Ltd., Lasmo Sanga-
Sanga Ltd., OPIC Oil Houston Ltd., Virginia Indonesia Co. LLC, and Virginia
Inter Co. LLC.
Indo CBM Ltd. won the Rengap CBM concession and a consortium consisting of
Trans Asia Resources-PT Jindal Stainless Indonesia will tap CBM in the Barito
area in East Kalimantan.
