Germany's Merkel: Short Working Hours To Be Extended
BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- Programs to keep people employed by reducing work hours
have helped prevent broad layoffs in Germany and will be extended, German
Chancellor Angela Merkel said Tuesday.
Merkel told a business conference in Berlin that the length of the extension
for short-hour programs is still being discussed.
