India Min:Likely To Meet 78% Of Fiscal Year Power Capacity
Addition Aim
NEW DELHI -(Dow Jones)- India is likely to achieve 78% of its electricity
capacity addition target for this fiscal year through March 2010 due to issues
such as fuel linkages and inadequate manpower, the federal power minister said
Friday.
"Out of the target of 14,507 megawatts, a capacity addition of 11,269 MW is
likely to be achieved in the year 2009-10," Sushilkumar Shinde told lawmakers in
a written reply in the lower house of parliament.
India has added 6,142 MW capacity by Nov. 17, he said.
