Newmont's Boddington Mine Achieves Commercial Production
SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Newmont Mining Corp. (NEM) said Friday it achieved
commercial production at its US$2.8 billion Boddington mine in Western
Australia.
At full production of about 1 million troy ounces of gold, Boddington will be
Australia's largest gold mine.
Including copper credits, gold production costs will be about US$300/oz.
"We are pleased with the ramp-up status of the mine and look forward to
achieving full production in 2010," said Brian Hill, Executive Vice President of
operations.
