Severstal North America To Restart Ohio Cold-Roll Mill Dec 13
LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Severstal North America, a unit of Russian steelmaker OAO
Severstal, said Thursday it is restarting its cold-rolling mill in Yorkville,
Ohio, on Dec. 13 in response to improved demand for cold-rolled and coated steel
products.
The cold-rolling mill belongs to Severstal Wheeling Inc., a unit of the North
American steel operations, and has been idled since June 2009. The mill will
reprocess steel made at Severstal Sparrows Point and deliver the final product
to either Severstal Wheeling's Martins Ferry, Ohio, coating operation or to end-
customers.
The number of employees to be recalled will vary with production demands, the
company said.
