WHO Says Swine Flu Vaccine As Safe As Seasonal Flu Vaccine
ZURICH -(Dow Jones)- Swine flu vaccine is as safe as seasonal flu vaccine, the
World Health Organization said Thursday, echoing previous statements.
"There are no new safety issues," said Marie-Paule Kieny, the WHO's director
of initiative for vaccine research.
The organization is in constant contact with health authorities in the
respective countries which monitor reports of complications tied to the vaccine.
Kieny said some deaths have occurred following vaccination but added there is
no evidence the vaccine was the cause.
