Indonesia To Remove Import Duties On Some Capital Goods Imports
JAKARTA -(Dow Jones)- The Indonesian government will remove duties on imports
of capital goods related to seven service industries to boost investment in the
country, the Finance Ministry said Thursday.
The seven service industries concerned are tourism, transportation, public
health, telecommunications, mining, construction, and seaport.
The ministry said the government will reevaluate the policy two years after
it's introduced on Dec. 16.
The government has been giving tax incentives to a handful of companies here
since last year as part of the wider stimulus package to help the economy
weather the impact of the global slowdown.
