Japan Fujii: US Geithner Wants Stronger Dollar
TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has expressed his
continued desire for a stronger dollar, Japanese Finance Minister Hirohisa Fujii
said Tuesday.
"Mr. Geithner has long been saying he wants to strengthen the dollar, and that
point was reaffirmed today," Fujii told reporters.
Fujii was speaking after he held a one-on-one meeting with Geithner, who is
visiting Japan for the first time since assuming his current post in January.
