Pakistan Consumer Price Inflation Eases To 8.87% In October
MUMBAI -(Dow Jones)- Pakistan's consumer inflation rate eased in October to
8.87% on year from 10.12% in September, the Federal Bureau of Statistics said
Tuesday.
Consumer prices rose 17.7% in October last year.
"The fall this month was largely due to the higher base effect of last
October," said Zainab Jabbar, an analyst at IGI Securities.
"We were expecting almost the same figure for October."
Food inflation eased to 7.5% from 10.02%.
Pakistan's government estimates that inflation will be around 9% by the end of
the current fiscal year, which began July 1.
