EU Fin Mins: Greece Must Restore Confidence In Econ Data
BRUSSELS -(Dow Jones)- European Union finance ministers Tuesday urged the
Greek government to restore confidence in its economic data.
Greece in recent years regularly has revised economic estimates, including the
measure of its government budget deficit.
Greece recently said its budget deficit this year will climb to 12.7% of gross
domestic product, more than double what the country had forecast just two months
earlier.
The finance ministers in a statement called on the Greek government "to
urgently take measures to restore the confidence of the European Union in Greek
statistical information."
