Baltic Sea Ports Throughput In Jan-Sept Down 2.5% On Year
MOSCOW -(Dow Jones)- The Baltic Sea ports in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania,
which mostly handle Russian cargoes, handled 102.143 million metric tons of
cargo in the first nine months of the year, a fall of 2.5% compared with
January-September 2008, the Latvian statistics agency said Tuesday.
Latvian ports handled 47.121 million tons of cargo in the period, 0.9% less
than in the corresponding period last year; Lithuanian ports handled 26.55
million tons, down 11.6% on the year; and Estonian ports handled 28.472 million
tons in the period, up 4.5%.
