DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
The U.S. National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane warning for parts of
Mississippi and Florida, and said Hurricane Ida is expected to cross the Gulf of
Mexico later Monday.
"A hurricane warning means that hurricane conditions are expected somewhere
within the warning area within 24 hours," the National Hurricane Center said in
an advisory.
The NHC also said a tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch was also in
effect for the northern gulf coast that includes New Orleans and Lake
Pontchartrain. Ida is currently a category two hurricane, the NHC said.
