US Refinery Status: Conoco Shuts Hydrogen Purification Unit

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Frontier Oil (FTO) will reduce fourth quarter total charge rates to an average of 136,000 barrels a day owning to maintenance at its El Dorado, Kansas, refinery.

Tesoro (TSO) plans 40 days of turnaround maintenance at its Golden Eagle refinery in Martinez, Calif., starting on January 8. An FCCU and alkylation unit be taken off line at that time for 30 days of scheduled work, traders doing business with Tesoro said Thursday.

BP Plc (BP) Thursday delayed the restart of an ultracracker unit at its Texas City, Texas; the unit began the process of restarting on Tuesday, filings to environmental regulators said. The restart is now expected within a few days, a person familiar with operations at the plant said on Thursday.

BP Plc Thursday told environmental regulators that flaring and emissions are expected at its Carson, California, refinery between November 10 and 23. A person familiar with operations at the plant said that the incident is associated with the conclusion of hydrotreater maintenance that began in September.
