Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi Appears With US EnvoyYANGON, Myanmar (AFP)--Myanmar's detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi made a rare appearance in front of reporters at a Yangon hotel Wednesday before holding talks with a visiting U.S. envoy. Dressed in maroon traditional dress, the Nobel laureate smiled but said nothing as she headed into the meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell. The Nobel Laureate was driven to the hotel in central Yangon from the lakeside mansion where she has spent most of the last two decades under house arrest.
