Iraq Sep Oil Export -2.7% On Month At 1.956 Million B/D - MinistryDOW JONES NEWSWIRES Iraq’s crude oil exports in September were down 2.7% at 1.956 million barrels a day, compared with 2.009 million barrels a day in August, the Iraqi oil ministry said in a statement Tuesday. The fresh figures are different from those released earlier this month by the country’s oil marketing company, or SOMO, which put the export figure at 2 million barrels a day in September. The oil ministry said that some 43,800 barrels, or 1.460 million barrels a day, were exported from the country’s southern oil terminals, while some 14.900 million barrels or 496,666 barrels a day were exported from northern Iraq. The statement said that Iraq earned some $3.87 billion from crude sales in September, bringing total oil sales values for the first nine months of the year to more than $28.47 billion. Iraq sold its crude in September at an average price of $66.05 a barrel compared with $68.8 a barrel in August, it said. The ministry said the Iraqi crude oil was sold to 28 international companies. It didn’t name these companies, however. -By Hassan Hafidh; Dow Jones Newswires; +962 799 831 831; hassan.hafidh@ dowjones.com (END) Dow Jones Newswires 10-27-090651ET Copyright (c) 2009 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. |
