Ecuador Oriente Crude $74.57/Bbl Oct 20; Napo $72.51/bbl



QUITO -(Dow Jones)- The average price of Petroecuador's Oriente crude oil for export was $74.57 per barrel on Oct. 20, up 8% from $69.00 per barrel on Oct. 13, Petroecuador said Friday.

The price rose 17% from an average of $63.78/bbl for the month of October 2008, Petroecuador said.

Petroecuador also exports Napo crude from former Occidental Petroleum Co. ( OXY) fields, which were seized in May 2006.

The average price of Napo crude oil for export was $72.51 per barrel on Oct. 20, up 8% from $66.94 per barrel on Oct. 13, according to Petroecuador.

Crude oil is Ecuador's main export.

Last year, Ecuador's oil averaged around $84 per barrel.

Ecuador exports its crude oil primarily to Asia, the U.S., and the Caribbean.
