Pelosi:House To Pass Health-Care Bill 'Well Before Thanksgiving'
WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The U.S. House of Representatives will pass sweeping
health-care legislation "well before Thanksgiving," the top Democrat in the
chamber said Wednesday.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the House would act within a month to
complete its work on health care.
She gave no prediction as to when the Senate would act to bring forward its
version of health-care legislation. But Pelosi did express hope that Congress
would be able to send a completed health-care bill to President Barack Obama by
the end of the year.
