Intel Executive: Windows 7 To Boost Corporate PC Demand In 2010
TAIPEI -(Dow Jones)- U.S. chip giant Intel Corp. (INTC) expects Microsoft
Corp.'s upcoming operating system Windows 7 to stimulate demand for corporate
personal computers in 2010, a company executive said Tuesday.
Microsoft is slated to launch its new operating system on Oct. 23.
Regardless of the worldwide economic slowdown, consumers' increasing reliance
on the Internet continues to drive demand for chips and PCs, Navin Shenoy,
Intel's vice president of sales and marketing group and general manager for the
Asia-Pacific region, said on the sidelines of a product launch in Taipei.
Stanley Huang, managing director of Intel's advanced technical sales and
services in Asia Pacific, said it will still take some time for corporate demand
to pick up due to companies' budget constraints.
