China Sovereign Fund Names International Advisory Board MembersSHANGHAI -(Dow Jones)- China Investment Corp., the country's $200 billion sovereign-wealth fund, has named the 14 members of its newly established international advisory board, which comprises economists, investors and former government officials from the U.S., Europe and Asia. All 14 members of the International Advisory Council will meet annually, and may convene interim meetings as and when necessary, the sovereign-wealth fund said on its Web site. The advisory body held its first meeting Sunday. The fund said the group will provide counsel on "the international economic environment, corporate governance, development strategy, and investment policy, as well as upgrading and improving our corporate image and increasing transparency." The following is a list of the board's members posted on CIC's Web site, according to region: ASIA Zeng Peiyan, director-general of China Center for International Economic Exchanges; former vice premier of the State Council of China Lawrence J. Lau, vice chancellor at Chinese University of Hong Kong Frederick Ma, honorary professor at School of Economics and Finance at University of Hong Kong; former secretary of Commerce and Economic Development at Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China Taizo Nishimuro, chairman of Tokyo Stock Exchange Group; former chairman & chief executive officer of Toshiba Corp.
