Westinghouse Solar, CBD Energy Announce Plans to Distribute Solar Power Systems Down Under - Westinghouse Soars 22%

Westinghouse Solar Inc. ( WEST ) surged 22% to $0.22 in afternoon trade, but has pulled away from a day's high of $0.25 and still trending near the year low of $0.15. WEST and Australia-based CBD Energy Ltd., a diversified renewable energy company, today jointly announced their plans to begin distributing WEST's solar power systems in Australia.

WEST said it plans to begin shipping to CBD in the third quarter of this year. Additionally, the companies are working on future plans to assemble WEST products in Australia using CBD's newly established solar panel manufacturing facility.

WEST trades in a 52-week range of $0.15 - $2.75.
